54North Homes adopts SRS

54North Homes has become the latest housing provider to adopt the Sustainability Reporting Standard for Social Housing (SRS).

54North Homes owns and manages over 3,000 homes throughout Yorkshire. Established in December 2022 through the merger of Leeds & Yorkshire Housing Association and York Housing Association, it operates as a subsidiary of Karbon Homes.

Director of Resources, Adam Hutchinson, said: “We’re really pleased to have adopted the SRS in the year following our merger. With a new Sustainability Strategy in place, reporting on our sustainability journey using the SRS will provide an important annual benchmark for the organisation and its stakeholders.

“We have begun work this year on an important retrofit project, supported by the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund, to improve the energy efficiency and reduce carbon output of 100 homes in Leeds and we expect this to be the start of a range of important projects to deliver environmental sustainability over the coming years.”

Brendan Sarsfield, Chair of SfH, said: “We are proud that 54North Homes recognises the benefits of underpinning its sustainability strategy by reporting through the SRS. We look forward to supporting the team as they evaluate their impacts and deliver sustainable outcomes.”
