Trust Housing Association joins community as an Adopter

Trust Housing Association has become the latest Adopter of the Sustainability Reporting Standard for Social Housing (SRS).

Trust is a not-for-profit registered social landlord which specialises in housing, care and support for older people. Alongside providing social rent in later living, Trust also manages social rent for all ages, some mid-market homes and shared ownership.

With a portfolio of nearly 4,000 homes across Scotland, Trust has a presence in 23 out of the 32 local authority areas – making it one of the largest later living providers in Scotland.

Jackie McIntosh, Director of Assets and Sustainability at Trust, said: “Trust is delighted to become an adopter of the SRS, which will strengthen our ESG transparency and accountability.

“We have experience of having already embraced SRS principles in recent years, for our external funder’s requirements, and this provides a clear and consistent way for us to communicate our ESG performance, showcasing our ongoing efforts to improve customer satisfaction, reduce environmental impacts and uphold strong governance.

“SRS brings many benefits, including, helping us meet the national Net Zero targets by 2045 and demonstrating our sustainability credentials to stakeholders, and most importantly, our customers and the communities we serve.”

Piers Williamson, Chair of SfH, said: “It is great to welcome Trust to the SRS Adopter community amongst the growing number of Scottish housing associations who can provide a region-focused perspective.

“We are excited to see the increasing number of providers specialising in later living see the value in reporting against the SRS framework, furthering their commitment to social responsibility.”
