Coastline Housing has become the latest organisation to adopt the Sustainability Reporting Standard (SRS).
Coastline Housing is a charitable social landlord based in Cornwall, dedicated to serving local communities. The housing association owns and manages over 5,000 homes, including social housing, shared ownership and rent-to-buy for thousands of people across the region.
Additionally, Coastline’s Extra Care scheme in Redruth houses many older people and provides services for anyone experiencing homelessness. Ultimately, helping hundreds each year who are rough sleeping.
Maia Rouse, the Sustainability and Carbon Analyst at Coastline Housing, said: “As part of Coastline’s ongoing commitment to becoming more sustainable, we are now official adopters of the Sustainability Reporting Standard to ensure that we maintain high quality ESG reporting.
“We believe ESG reporting offers another route for highlighting the efforts of Coastline and is useful in terms of benchmarking the key outputs to others in the housing sector to ensure we understand both our absolute and relative performance.
“By adopting the standard, we can make more meaningful decisions, taking into account both our customers’ needs and the environmental impact of our actions and business activities.”
Piers Williamson, Chair SfH, said: “We are excited to welcome Coastline Housing to the SRS Adopters community.
“It is fantastic to see an increasing number of region-focused housing associations recognise the value of focussed ESG strategies. I particularly welcome Coastline, recognising the acute shortage of affordable homes in the communities they serve and with the fast increasing needs of climate adaptation in the region”
