Hightown Housing Association (Hightown) becomes the latest organisation to adopt the Sustainability Reporting Standard for Social Housing (SRS).
Hightown is a charitable housing association which aims to help people who need support and care, and help those who cannot afford homes at market rate. It manages over 9,5000 homes across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Berkshire. These include affordable housing, care and supported housing schemes as well as other housing services.
Maxine Espley MBE, Hightown Chief Executive Officer, said: “We are proud to have formally adopted the Sustainability Reporting Standard for Social Housing. In doing so, we’re able to evidence the positive impact our work has on customers, colleagues and the wider community, benchmark ourselves against others in the sector and identify gaps and priorities that will help us improve our ESG performance over time.”
Piers Williamson, Chair of SfH, said: “We are pleased to be a part of Hightown’s journey of committing to carrying out transparent, standardised reporting. With the recent publication of Hightown’s first environmental, social and governance (ESG) report, it is refreshing to see the continued relevance of tracking ESG performance in the sector.”
