Welsh housing association Coastal has become the latest adopter of the Sustainability Reporting Standard for Social Housing (SRS).
The 6,000 landlord has been providing low rent homes for people in the Swansea area since the 1970s and now operates in Swansea, Neath Port Talbot, Carmarthenshire and Bridgend.
Debbie Green, Chief Executive of Coastal, said: “Coastal has committed itself to taking all possible action to manage the climate crisis to enable the wellbeing of future generations. In October 2022, we showed our commitment to this mission by publishing our sustainability strategy online.
“By adopting the SRS, we are reaffirming our commitment by pledging to publish our sustainability performance data in a standardised way. Because the SRS is a consistent, industry-wide reporting method this ensures our reporting will be comprehensive and transparent. We’re excited about sharing what we’re doing, and learning from others, too.”
Brendan Sarsfield, Chair of SfH, said: “SfH would like to welcome Coastal to a growing list of adopters. It is great to see another Welsh housing association adopt the SRS.
“SfH is keen to grow its footprint and with more and more HAs joining from across the UK, the sector’s commitment to sustainability is clearly growing.”
