South Wales housing association Newport City Homes has become the latest organisation to adopt the Sustainability Reporting Standard for Social Housing (SRS).
The group provides homes and services to customers in roughly 10,000 properties across the city of Newport.
Sophie Taylor, Director of Finance and Procurement at Newport City Homes, said: “We are delighted to become an Adopter of the SRS. Newport City Homes has an environmental sustainability strategic commitment which sets out our desire to reduce our environmental impact and support our customers, communities, colleagues, and partners to achieve lasting change.
“Being part of the adopter community to report and benchmark our performance and share best practice will support us in the achievement of our ambitions around sustainability, social benefit and being a well-run organisation.”
Brendan Sarsfield, Chair of SfH, said: “SfH welcomes Newport City Homes to the SRS adopter community.
“As the largest social landlord in Newport, the organisation has a strong influence on the local community. We are pleased that it has committed to working towards a more sustainable future for residents.”
