South West-based Selwood Housing has become the latest housing association to adopt the Sustainability Reporting Standard for Social Housing (SRS).
Selwood joins more than 100 housing associations and funders as an adopter as the social housing sector continues to solidify its reputation as a leader on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) reporting.
Barry Hughes, Group chief executive, Selwood Housing: “We own and manage 7,000 homes in the South West and understand the difference a stable home makes to people’s lives. We believe in strong ESG reporting to meet our responsibilities to customers and to continually improve services.
“We were delighted to share the work we do in our first ESG report last year. We adopted the principles of the Sustainability Reporting Standard for Social Housing and aligned this to key strategies including how we build new and manage our existing homes.
“We want to track our progress and continually improve, and the Standard provides us with direction and transparency.”
Brendan Sarsfield, Chair of Sustainability for Housing (SfH), said: “SfH is delighted to welcome Selwood Housing to its growing list of adopters and endorsers.
“Selwood’s adoption means that the SRS continues to expand its footprint across all regions of the UK.”
