SRS role in benchmarking
The SRS has provided us with a tool to benchmark our performance, helping to analyse our performance across the sector and supported in setting our own business targets by using it as a framework, knowing our strengths and opportunities to create greater impact.
Delivering for customers
We have seen ESG becoming an integral consideration, not just within the sector but externally as well. There has been an increase in customers identifying ESG as important to what they want their landlords to deliver, as well as to investors, which is why we were one of the early adopters of the Standard. Looking at the external market, this has not been a passing trend but something all our stakeholders are taking an interest in.
Improving internal processes
There are clear definitions and metrics of the SRS which makes the process of reporting easier. Reporting is a business wide effort which has its values of raising awareness of ESG and we have found that through this process, our departments have bought into this and used the metrics to set themselves deliverable performance targets based on the SRS.
