Cornish housing association Ocean Group has become the latest adopter of the Sustainability Reporting Standard for Social Housing (SRS).
The 5,000-home association joins more than 120 organisations that have adopted the SRS since it was created in 2020.
Nikki Forward, Group Director of People & Culture, said: “Adopting the SRS means joining a sector-specific reporting standard which enables us to measure, compare and report our progress against key criteria.
“We own and manage just under 5,000 homes here in rural Cornwall, where we see the importance of running a sustainable business in helping our tenants who are affected by fuel poverty and the rising cost of living.
“Our values and social purpose guide how we do business at Ocean. Being able to transparently share our performance with our tenants and stakeholders and show how our sustainability ambitions are embedded across the business is important to us.”
Brendan Sarsfield, Chair of SfH said: “SfH is delighted to welcome Ocean Group to its growing list of adopters.
“Ocean’s adoption reflects the evolving footprint of the SRS in the UK and shows that sustainability is a key concern for HAs operating in areas hit hardest by the housing crisis.”
